Hi My name is Mina and I have an addiction.

To cleaning and organizing.

I find it odd when people aren't organized and then wonder why they run late/loose things/can't find them.

I'm a planner person, I make my own forms from tip junkie and other sites.

I even keep my work statistics up to date daily.

Neurotic? no, just type A personality.

I have a list for everything, on my iphone and in my planner. If I had an ipad I'd have it on there too.

My room is one of the rooms where I like things a certain way, 

My closet is in color order, by kind.

(excuse the iphone photos, my camera is packed)

Here is the tank tops and below is the pants, skirts and shorts.

 This is the shelf above the tank tops, from right to left is

Bra accessories, you know the extra straps, padding etc.

then is the silk scarves, mostly vintage.

beside that is nylons and stockings. 

and then finally wallets and other purse accessories.

yes they all have hang tags. 

 To the left of the baskets are cut up boxes that sort my shorts, jeans and khakis.

obviously all the shorts and capris are being swapped out for my winter clothes.

 This is the t-shirt side of the closet, the bottom are regular run of the mill shirts and the top right is all my black work tops. to the left are all my chevy shirts, to the left of that is the stuff I need to pack for my next trip. then you have my new bikini, to the left of that is all the smexy bits I have for when my hubby gets back, they are blurred, oh darn...

 The dresser is full of leggings, work out clothes and sweat pants, they are all labeled with hang tags so if some one helps me with laundry, cough*mom*cough, she they will know what goes where.

These are all of my dresses, next to my hubbies tiny little corner of the closet.

I'm sure I can make room eventually...

 This is the back of the closet door, the shoe holder has all of my scarves and other fabric stuff.

 I know that many people have a neat closet but this is what gets everyone that comes over, 

My friends have no shame and dig in my drawers. dresser drawers any way.

this is the undie vault. 

they are sorted by type and kind

left row goes like this top is booty shorts. middle is lacy booty shorts bottom is plain jane comfy undies.

Middle is all about the hubby. I've been hoarding all of the free lacy bits from victoria secret.

top is all lace items, middle is lace top and bottom is no lace, satin etc.

the far right top is the undies you take with you on a trip to throw away because they are so old and frayed, middle is lace thongs, if you can really call that little of lace anything, and the bottom is the cotton thongs that are comfy ( yeah yeah thongs aren't comfy, I hear you but I'm against V.P.L)

 Next you have the bras, sports are on the left, specialty bras in the center and regular everyday ones are on the right.

 And yes even my sock drawer is organized 

( sorry I can't hang out tonight I'm sorting my socks)

The main white ones are in the unbroken part of my cup cake carrier that my hubby so lovingly threw across the dining room when we were moving in.....

at least I could use it. 

 Last but not least is my plug collection, well most of it any way.

Most of them were purchased but some were made by yours truly!

I'm feeling so generous that I'm even going to throw in photos of my up stairs bathroom.

 Theres not much to show though.

My awesome shower curtain and hooks my mom bought for me, although the shower rod is too large for the hooks. gah!

 ok back to being sane for a bit, I set my vanity tray on the towel rod for the simple fact that it doesn't fit on the tank of the toilet. Hob lob for the win with that cute *clearance* basket holding the wash cloths.

 Because I do my make up in my room the bath room is really boring, save these shelves I made!

Pretty good for 29¢ lumber. I had everything else.

 This is the other shelf I made out of 29¢ wood. 

I painted the jars from my moms house and my PM Awahpui wild ginger hoard.

I'm obsessed with it so I have most the line, the styling products are in my room waiting for a vanity...

 This is the wall that the shelf is on, I'm not sure why there is a stocking cap with a bill hanging there.

It's me, its there for some dumb reason.

 Here is the storage for all the unsightly things ( bath poofs, brushes, styling stuff )

under my laundry basket.

The basket is from pier one and the round basket is from HOB LOB, it matches the one on the toilet.

AND the basket on my coffee table, I guess I'm just so fond of it!

 Well here you go, the whole shot of the bathroom.

The only interesting thing about my bathroom was re folding all of the towels, in a three part instead of roll and I almost put these two perfectly good towels into the "hair color towels" pile.

Those are the towels that I absolutely destroy while coloring, lightening or doing anything with my hair.

But the only thing wrong with these two were that one edge of them was frayed.

They are both really fluffy still so why ruin them with hair color?

Thats why I LOVE jellie rolls from the moda bake shop.

I just pressed the edges in and folded it in half.

and sewed them on with the sewing machine, which stopped cooperating, so thats all the sewing I did.

now back to the 5 million loads of laundry.

ok so I think I have 2 more just of towels.

I'm super suspicious of hand towels so they get changed a lot and I use a new towel every day.

talk about a clean freak!

DIY Hair Feathers!

I love the new trend of feathers, 

Here is some famous person wearing them, I'm sure I should know who it is but I don't care.

I even have two in my hair, a yellow rooster and a peacock.

They are super expensive!!!

Even for me, and I'm a stylist.

SERIOUSLY they are rooster feathers, they aren' worth $23 a piece.

so I made my own,

I tried it out. Proof of concept is the rainbow feather on the left

on the right are the markers

the feathers I purchased from the HOB LOB.

$2.49 for the feathers and I had the markers.

 I started just by coloring the feather in.

 easy peasy!

Then I stripped the part I didn't want just by pulling against the grain.

 Cute aye?

 I still wasn't sure about the feather so I cut it down and viola! cuteness!

 That was easy right? let's make a blue one!

 I stripped the feather the same way as I did before.

 Here are all the ones I made threaded and glued to a bobby pin so I don't have to choose what one I want for a long time.

once the glue dries I will cut off the rest of the ("stem"??)

What ever.

I hope you all have fun making your own! If anyone knows someone on a farm that can get rooster feathers that would be the way to go but I don't know anyone on a farm anymore!

so you made a flag out of molding?

So did I!!

 I nailed molding to a 1x8 with a brad gun that my mom lent me.

finds out it doesn't have a safety pressure thingie.

 when you have to press it all the way to the surface before it will shoot the nail?

yeah..... no serious injury... my poor thumb will be fine.

Any way I painted the molding with craft paint.

 I can't even draw a straight line with a ruler so did you really think I could paint one?

me either.

so I sanded it down to distress it and here she is!

I did the traditional saw tooth hanger on the back to hang it but now I just need a huge ladder.

molding signs.

I've seen all around the interwebs of people making signs out of extra molding.

so why not jump on the band wagon?

I love the vinyl letters and sayings you can buy or make but I don't like my cricut that much to buy vinyl for it. so whats the next best thing?

Stickers.

 Last week when I was making moulding planters I painted a few pieces because I knew I wanted to make signs. I just used craft paint.

Heres one of my favorite sayings. I don't cook very well so this sums up my feeling.

 I added it to the wall in the kitchen where every thing hangs.

 I also love the laundry room sayings but I couldn't decide which of the two to use.

Both was a good answer.

 " the laundry room- drop your pants here and we will have loads of fun"

Last but not least the one for the bedroom.

 plain and simple. just the way I like it, you can even see my skinny legs!

And I know that the letters are not quite straight but really? I don't have time to measure.

To hang them I just used 3m poster strips. the pieces are light enough not to warrant nail holes.

day off.

Today is not going to be a very busy day for me. Its 10 am here and I am pooped. I need coffee or something. I've just been dragging my feet for the last week.

I know I need to sort through my house for my rummage sale and I know that I need to clean my house

ENTIRELY

before my husband gets home.

Today my friend kelsey is coming to bleach my hair out so I can go back to blonde.

the only thing I want is to go back to is bed.

I'm a grouchy old man when I wake up.

I am also finishing a ton of projects.

including

molding signs 

a molding flag

and that seems like a ton I guess.

off to work I guess...

Laundry room.

I'm not very creative when it comes to my entry ways or my laundry room. as you can see here.

this is the entry way from the garage. fascinating isn't it?

I thought it was boring too.

But Figured that the laundry room right off to the left is all about storage.

 I keep all the important stuff behind the door in a shoe organizer.

Random chargers and cords get corralled here so I can always find the right one.

Dryer balls and downy balls also have a home on the bottom.

lost socks also lived here for awhile.

you can see the water heater to the left, not much room.

 This is the look to the left of the room, 

I have a clothing rack on the left and the basket sorter on the right.

if you haven't heard of ana white you need to google her right this second!

My dad built me the basket sorter out of an old book case!

I also have a clothes line that runs over the washer and dryer, you can see the unmentionables on the top right corner. Yes I know I should edit it out but I don't have the slightest bit of shame.

 It's hard to take pictures in the tiny room.

This is a better view of the basket storage.

the top holds my hubbies boots and other gear.

and the bottom holds his "bag drag" stuff.

Your guess is as good as mine on why they do it.

I also love these hanger organizers my mom bought for me, I have four that are usually full.

This is my new lost sock catcher!

 I carefully edited out an essential letter in our last name so you wont know it.

no it just fell off and I haven't replaced it. its a piece of wood with paper glued to it and clothes pins nailed to it. easy aye?

Working hard for the money.

I work 40 hours a week now, its very hard to get crafting done when all you 

want to do is go home and sleep.

But I managed to get some stuff made on my day off on sunday and today.

I made this small shelf out of the scrap wood I picked up at menards. 

I also whipped together two sign bases for what ever..

I'm not sure what to make yet.

 I even did some planting on sunday..

I went to target and menards to pick up more seeds and planters.

 This was my porch on sunday, boooooring!!!

I really needed some more planters and fast!

 I had this great idea to use moulding and turn it into planters!

AMAZING! I did the miter corners ( not near perfect but who cares? )

Also to line it I used a dollar store garbage bag.

you can't put garbage in there any way!

I just nailed it to the molding.

 So here is what I did with the first sign panel I made.

the paint is still fresh so I didn't dare try to sand it and distress it. tomorrow that is the plan!

Yes I know it looks like some little kid painted it, and I'm ok with that.

 This is what I did for the rest of my afternoon:

 The basket is from my bathroom and lined with a menards bag, it does say to recycle it!

the blue ones were 1/2 off at the hob lob and the rest from menards.

 So I have a miter saw and left over molding, what to do? 

 Make window boxes!!

I didn't even bother with miter corners, the dirt will not care.

I lined them with these clear lids for seed starting trays, the were 75¢ at menards.

I managed to make 5 but only two were right, oh well no one will look that close!

As soon as the flowers spring up and it stops raining I will take photos of my new porch!

Although I'm finally getting a backyard fence so I will have to move most of the stuff back there!

I need enough room for the hubby to sit out there as well I guess!
