Floral and decor update

I've been going through the boxes I have in storage and I found all the fun things I've wanted to use!

Some of the things I already had but spray painted because I didn't like the color

I found all of the wedding vases!

I used fake flowers. I will eventually have real flowers.

In my collection I had beakers! I am a mad scientist I guess!

Here is the third spray painted vase! along with rummage sale stars on top of the rummage sale shelf, that is very un-level!

TA DAAA! Here are all the new real flowers, from my parent's flower bed!

They ended up everywhere! they remind me so much of my childhood, so much that there is a photo of my sister and myself to the left. who knew water balloons could be so much fun?

Shopping at my parents house.

I'm a 150% sure that my parent's house has enough crafting supplies to last me 100 years.

I spent the last two days crafting, I originally went there to pick up a waterfall vanity that my parents bought me at a rummage sale last year.

We took redi strip after it and it made a complete mess!

it never turned white! OMG so my parents are still working on it.

I have more redi strip on my shoes than was on the vanity.

I also doug through the parent's attic and came out with 4 leather jackets ( for sewing)

two packs of solar light..

And a million jars!

I also got some photo frames, I did spray paint them black.

look at this gem!! Antique box and all!

I also did my mom's mothers day gift finally!

I decorated her shelf in the entry way, that had two pine trees and a snowman for the last three years.

It was time for something better!

My mom collects birdhouses so it was perfect gift, I gave her two birds, the flowers and the pot the blue bird is in. mind you its in an awkward area to photo graph.

Here is the whole entry way with the portrait of my grandma.

The brown things at the bottom are the entry door and a coat closet.

Even on a ladder it was hard to do.

This is the grand total of what I brought home from my parents house, with the exception of the shelves I made!

My dad has a vast collection of scrap wood so I had fun making things with it.

He also has all the power tools!

This is one of the shelves I made with the help of my mom, Just out of scraps.

It would have had more shelved but we ran out of that one kind of scrap wood.

How perfect for more photos!!

I also made a ladder for the front porch.

Cute doesn't need a reason.

My lonely front porch. I need planters or something.

I made the ladder just by drilling holes halfway through the board and pressed in the dowels.

no glue no nails, no one is going to climb it. ( I hope )

I also wanted to show off the rug my sister got me for christmas! I laugh at it every time I see it!

An extremely busy day!

Like most my sundays I planned on sleeping all day and then cleaning.

I guess I did sleep in until 8:30, am.

I've been working all day, on my own house even!

I started out yesterday by spray painting a free dresser I picked up at a garage sale!

This is what the poor thing looked like before:

I also was given these two buckets from my friend, one before the blue after.

This was the tester for the color I wanted the dresser!

I took off the hardware and just painted it white, no sanding although I should have.

I also picked up these frames and candle holders!

they also need paint.

no primer, no sanding.

so here is the dresser after I sprayed it! It turned out better than I expected!

I'm not so sure if I like the white on the candle sticks or the frames....

Here she is all put together, I learned later that I put the drawers on the wrong side but you get the point.

Isn't she amazing now??? There are tons of blemishes from wear and tear but heck I don't have to distress it myself!

There was contact paper in the drawers and it looked nasty but it didn't stink. My solution?

cover it, with wrapping paper from target, which I found out later that I didn't actually get charged for it, I called when I got home but they said not to worry about it!

so the total cost so far is $2 for the paint.

I love the bunnies and butterflies, it reminds me of my grand mother and aunt.

it was clearance from easter but who cares? it's cute and cute doesn't need a reason!

I also rearranged the family desks around so I could watch tv while sewing, instead of having my back to the tv.

I went through everything and organized everything.

All of my sewing accessories fit nicely into 2 egg cartons, I should have painted them first but meh.

Here is the dresser as a side board in my dining room!

the drawers are in correctly here and you can see my candle holders painted and kind of distressed with purple paint,

I'm craving color today ( probably because I have to color my hair in the worst way, I know shame on me for having 1/2" regrowth, being a stylist!!)

The burlap cover is just some fabric I cut, no fancy sewing!

I'm really not sure if I like the way it's decorated, I'm sure it will change a few hundred times.

I moved the one candle holder to the mail station and pulled out my hand I had in a box under the stairs for all of the jewelry I ditch as soon as I get in the house.

I threw some more clementine crates on the wall and put the other candle holder by the monitor.

Still not sure on what I want to do with the crates either.

I managed to find one centerpiece and my bouquet from my wedding.

I figured on how much time I spent on them (all five minutes?) I should display them!

I need something on top of the cabinets besides my bouquet and my mother's "time for cookies" cookie jar, the mouse sits on top but he's too tall. My parents got it as a wedding present in 1969 and I just LOVE the darn thing! I don't know why, there was never any cookies in it....
